Website Design Inspiration

Jason Mraz Website

As we’re preparing to create our info site in class, we’re looking at websites with designs that appeal to us and inspire us. Below are some websites that I either frequent or found on others’ lists of great web design.

Site One: Aleberry Creative
I found this site when visiting the Adobe Muse site. This site was provided as a sample of what can be done with the Muse software. I like the clean look of it, the type, and the pop of pink. The illustrations and the wit in the content create a fun website to visit.

Site Two: Invisible Children
Not only do I love the work of this nonprofit, but I also love their design. I like the use of black, white, and bright colors on the website. Everything they put out is well designed and is good inspiration for my graphic and web design.

Site Three: Ryan Scherf
I found this site when perusing through another blogger’s roundup of nicely designed websites. What I love about this site is the beautiful illustration (love the textures!) in the header.

Site Four: Carsonified
I love this site’s type and bold graphics. I also enjoyed the little details; for example, hovering over each link in the nav bar at top makes a cute little graphic appear above it. Sometimes it’s the little details that make something great!

Site Five: Jason Mraz
This site, created by The Uprising Creative, has an earthy feel that fits with Jason’s music and lifestyle. Various images are used on different pages in the site, but they all have the same feel and color scheme.

Site Six: Good
Good…is…well, good! The screenshot below is of their infographic page. While I like their site as a whole, their infographics really appeal to me and are good inspiration for the design side of creating my own websites.
